Jerome Avenue, Bronx

This is where the young transexual Latinos work. We talk to young, handsome men about their sexual idenities and the financial strain they encounter when saving for a sex change operation. We admire their extravagant wardrobes and listen to the pleasantly told life stories. We also learn about the pecking order on the hustle

Some recount their experiences with tricks who discovered that they were not dealing with women.

Lexington Avenue, Manhattan

We visit the‚ ‘luxury stroll’, where again we see very young sex workers.

14th Street, Manhattan

The night is coming to a close. The last stop is the ‘transgender stroll’. Here we meet, Coco, who is

infected with the H.I.V. virus. She is receiving medical treatment and a home from the City of New York.

Proudly, this 32 year old presents the key to her first apartment. She ran away at a young age from her parent’s home in New Jersey after being molested by an uncle. After arrving in New York City she was taken in by a priest, who promptly sexually abused her. Since then, she has worked the streets.

It’s time for good bye. Tomorrow George will go down the same route. We step off and the outreach vehicle disappears into the night.
