Festivals
by Susi on Aug.14, 2010, under General
Hello,
there is a new festival in Atlantic City, a film AND music festival we are going to attend.
I love our ‘Lost In The Crowd’ song performed by the wonderful Joana Zimmer who by the way just brought out an album that is fantastic.
As most of you know Antony Hegarty let us use his ‘ You are my sister’ one of my favorites of all times. Now we have a new song in the new longer version, composed by Nicholas Wright, it is called ‘Skindeep’ and will be in the new, longer version we are just cutting now.

Joana Zimmer Music Video for “Lost in the Crowd” – Teaser Time !
by Susi on May.25, 2010, under General
Hello everyone!
My name is Dalin Rowell, I’m a little helper of the lovely Susi, the director of the fantastic documentary you are probably all interested in checking out. But what about me? Well I am a student of the Art Institute of New York City, Street Fashion lover and Film Editor/Film Buff. If your curious to know more about me, you can check out my own blog, La Vida Frills at http://lavidafrills.blogspot.com.
But enough about me, what about Susi’s movie? Lost in the Crowd is an inspiring piece of film that really cannot be missed if you have the chance to see it. But you want to know something else not to miss? Well, I just so happen to be editing a little something that really is going to be beautiful. But what is it? Joana Zimmer’s new music video, for her ending credits song for the film, “Lost in the Crowd”. In the video, You’ll get to see Joana and, the fabulous model Giselle, take on the streets of New York. Showing off both the glamour and the grit of what makes this city different from all others.
I bet your dying to see the video right? Well unfortunately the “cheesecake” as we are calling it, is still in the oven. But here is a bite or taste, however you want to call it, of what should be in store for you when the video is unveiled in June 2010.
Here are the links to all the videos ~>
and
Hope you are getting excited !!
Also, I’ll be posting some new material from other Lost in the Crowd cast members soon, be on the look out !!
Thanks for reading and stay posted ~

Visit in the Manhattan Detention Center
by Susi on May.20, 2010, under General
Hello again,
For the last few months I have searched for my beloved Kimy. As you can imagine at this point I love all the kids I have met and their friends and the outreach workers and everyone else I met in the ballroom scene and although they surely must see me as a strange duck in their environment they always make me feel welcome and I thank them for that.
So anyway, here is the story. I am looking for Kimy again like so many times before. Kimy tends to disappear, all of the kids come and go. Kimy stays in touch with me and tends to report news from the street in a way that our shared sense of the dramatic, the seedy glamour, the erotic freedom and the simple joy and mystery of being here lights us up like Queens on the Night of a Thousand Gowns coming from a David Bowie party in Lou Reed’s loft downtown.

Production History part IV
by Susi on Apr.28, 2009, under General
Jerome Avenue, Bronx
This is where the young transexual Latinos work. We talk to young, handsome men about their sexual idenities and the financial strain they encounter when saving for a sex change operation. We admire their extravagant wardrobes and listen to the pleasantly told life stories. We also learn about the pecking order on the hustle
Some recount their experiences with tricks who discovered that they were not dealing with women.
Lexington Avenue, Manhattan
We visit the‚ ‘luxury stroll’, where again we see very young sex workers.
14th Street, Manhattan
The night is coming to a close. The last stop is the ‘transgender stroll’. Here we meet, Coco, who is
infected with the H.I.V. virus. She is receiving medical treatment and a home from the City of New York.
Proudly, this 32 year old presents the key to her first apartment. She ran away at a young age from her parent’s home in New Jersey after being molested by an uncle. After arrving in New York City she was taken in by a priest, who promptly sexually abused her. Since then, she has worked the streets.
It’s time for good bye. Tomorrow George will go down the same route. We step off and the outreach vehicle disappears into the night.
